J SCHATZ ORIGINAL DESIGN
The Egg Bird Feeder was designed in 2004 by J Schatz and quickly became a design classic. Jim designed the feeder to be beautiful, functional, durable and squirrel-proof. Egg Bird Feeders have been sold to thousands of happy customers around the world. In 2007 the U.S. Patent office issued us our design patent #D566,344.

FROM OUR STUDIO TO YOUR BACKYARD
We design and handcraft all our products from our studio in New York and employ artists from the local community. Your support and enthusiasm for ethical design is shared by J Schatz and is reflected in the quality and integrity of our company and its products.

AVOID FAKES
Three of our Egg Bird Feeders were sold to Julian and Cheryl Lipton of the UK based company The Nuttery in 2006. They purchased our Egg Bird Feeder in order to replicate the design without permission and call it there own under the name "Egg Seed Feeder".

From a press release dated October 18, 2008, managing director Julian Lipton says "Quite simply, this is the most beautiful bird feeder we have ever made. Not only will it look stunning in any setting, The Egg is also designed to help attract a wide variety of birds to the garden all year round. Our brand values of ‘quality, design and innovation’ are very important to us and I believe we have delivered on each aspect with The Egg. We are all very excited."

Unfortunately it was not their innovative idea or design and we ask that you avoid companies like this that violate basic business ethics.
